Here, have some snow. Wait, have some more! The evidence that winter is not over yet is all around us. 

This little Ruffed Grouse is ready for it! Locally hand-burned and painted, this Grouse is ready to hang out at home with you. Did you know they have "snowshoes" (scale extensions on their toes) to walk on snow and to burrow into it for warmth? There's a lot to burrow in right now! 

With all this snowy weather, I've been cooking hearty soups and stews. Wood spoons are my favourite for stirring the pot. These olive wood kitchen utensils from Tunisia will last for years as long as you don't leave them soaking in the sink or try to wash them in the dishwasher. They're easy to care for: a little scrape, a scrub, and a rinse, then let them air dry. When needed, you can rub a little oil into the wood to keep it smooth. There's a good selection of wooden utensils here at Tipped to keep you cooking. 

You could use these eco sponges to clean up your spoons and the rest of your kitchen. The scrubbing side is made from loofah, and the soft side is made from wood pulp. At the end of their life, you can compost them. A handy sponge that we've carried for a couple of years. 

Help your sponge and your soap dry between uses with this bamboo soap dish. It's a two-part dish that comes apart for easy cleaning. 

Do you see that large 15" rolling pin on the right? It rolls so smoothly that it's a pleasure to use. (The other two rolling pins are mine. They look like babies compared to that big grandma roller.) I'd like to be friends with the person who puts that large rolling pin to use - I bet lots of yummy things come from their kitchen! 

It's difficult to see in the photo but this sweater has a lovely silver thread in the knit, giving it a soft sparkle. Wood and wires! That's what CA & Sonny are bringing with them to Elgin United this Saturday, February 28th. I'm not sure just how many instruments they're bringing, but I am sure it will be an upbeat night of great music and laughter.
